ABOUT DANA SORENSEN

Dana Sorensen had a long and successful playing career that spanned from Stanford University to the National Professional Fastpitch League and USA national team. In her career she was named an NFCA All American 3 times, played in 2 Women’s College World Series, and was inducted into the Stanford Athletics Hall of Fame.

After completing her playing career, she moved into coaching, spending 3 seasons as an assistant coach and Physical Education Instructor at UC Davis, and 2 more years as an assistant at Oregon State. Wanting to move back to San Diego, where she grew up, Dana left coaching the college game, and opened her own Pitching instruction business, D12 Softball.  While teaching pitching lessons Dana began to pursue her other passion of training, As an athlete Dana suffered some major injuries that sidetracked her career, rehabbing those injuries catapulted Dana into a fascination with injuries and how to prevent them.  After moving to San Diego, Dana pursued her training passion getting her CSCS, Functional Movement Certification, and Kettlebell certification,  She began training adult clients before getting an opportunity to work with youth athletes when she teamed up with EM Speed and Power.  At EM she gave pitching lessons and wrote and oversaw training programs for softball pitchers.  In addition to her work in softball Dana continues to work with non-athletes as an instructor at FS Athletics.  She has worked with athletes from high school, college and professional levels.  Dana graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from Stanford with a double major in Communications and Sociology, and received her Masters Degree in Exercise Sport Science from the University of North Carolina.
